Every now and then I come across some really interesting/weird/curious things in my hang-ten time on the big WWW. Stuff that makes me think, laugh-out-loud, keeps me informed, and just “WOWs” me (sometimes in a good way, sometimes not so good). New water line was needed with new construction that has sprung up down the street. Hopefully this will increase our water pressure back to where it was when we moved in about 13 years ago. I’m working up to something here, so stay with me. We left the house in the morning, and came home to this. Is that a little man standing there? No, wait, maybe someone’s trash? No, it’s . . . it’s . . . a FIRE HYDRANT! Smack dab in the middle of our front yard. Do you see it? Are you kidding me? We’ve done without this thing for 13 years, and all of a sudden we have to have it in the middle of our yard? OK, phone call is on the schedule to the city civil engineer. I’ve emailed her before and she was very responsive. We’ll hope that track record holds. Ugh. Hair on fire, Suz
