I jumped up one morning, the clock said it was well after 8am. What?!?!?!
“Fire, fire, fire!!!”
I started hustling the girls out of bed, getting dressed and trying to find a granola bar and a juice box for breakfast because they were soooooooooo late for school!
I was fit to be tied, not to mention late for work myself.
To my surprise, the girls were up and at ‘em in record time. (See my shocked face . . . . *shock* . . . .!)
My Mountain Man, from his horizontal position in bed, relaxed, and somewhat coma-ish says, “It’s Sunday . . . “, rolls over and goes back to sleep.
I wanted to argue.
But I couldn’t.
He was right.
What a waste of adrenaline.
I am still reminded of this separation from reality on a regular basis from my family. They are still laughing. I’m sure I will, too.
Maybe.
Have you ever completely departed from the real world? Excluding the 1960s and 70s.

That’s funny! Unfortunately for me when I think I’ve overslept I always have! I do have a habit of going in to automatic pilot when I’m driving and often end up in the wrong place. My daughter’s piano lesson is on route to the supermarket and I usually end up there on my way to pick her up. I even got out once and started shopping until I got a call from her teacher asking where I was!! Embarrasing to say the least. At least you got to go back to bed anyway. What a relief!
Oh, I assure you I did not go back to sleep. Too much adrenaline and embarrassment. Of which I am still reminded. Hahahaha!
I so envy you. I wish I could sleep past 5:30 AM on the weekends. Never happens. Ever. I would take being riled over that one any day! ;o)
It was 4:30 a.m. for me this morning. It is rare, rare, rare that I EVER sleep past 8am, which is the other thing that made this such mind-blower! LOL!
You are hysterical! I loved the reenactment!!!
Happy Sunday! Now go put that adrenaline to work!
And then there was the time you were hours late to pick us up from school cause you got caught up playing Tetris!!! Hahahahaha!!!
Yep, and then there is that. Another story for another day.
Tattletale.
I’ve done something like that before, but more often, I’ve woken up, looked at the clock, and swore it was past time to get up. In a panic, I jump out of bed, get into the shower, only to look at the clock again and realize it’s something like 2am. In my half-asleep stupor I’d read the time wrong. Funny thing is, since I’ve gotten a clock with bigger numbers, this happens less often!
Muh bad.
